Server Infrastructure
We're technology agnostic, so regardless of whether you want On-Premise or Cloud, Physical or Virtual, we can help you implement the right solution for your business.
Datek is also a hardware reseller so we can provide you with cost-effective solutions as well as a great service.
The lifetime of a server has grown in recent years, technology has become more reliable and assets are expected to last longer, the days of refreshing servers every 3 years is a thing of the past for many businesses. A typical lifespan of a server can be 5 years or more. For this approach to work, it’s important that the server(s) you purchase are capable of delivering services to your business for the duration of this time, either out the box or via incremental upgrades.
As a hardware reseller as well as a services business, we hold HP servers and options in stock, meaning we can provide you with the right solution at the right price.
We can provide a variety of different server options to suit your needs:
- Physical – There are scenarios where single or multiple physical servers may still be of benefit to a business, such as where virtualisation is not desired or supported by 3rd party applications.
- Virtual – This is a typical approach for small businesses requiring multiple services to be delivered by one or more servers located in your office. This can offer many benefits such as being able to run multiple virtual servers on the same hardware as well as being able to take advantage of improved reliability, performance and redundancy.
- Co-located – There are situations where you may not want your servers in your office, we can provide full co-location facilities, this can provide security, redundant cooling and power which is costly to provide in your office.
- Cloud – You may not want to own servers at all and chose to rent a cloud server. This reduces your upfront costs and can provide your business with greater flexibility.
We can work with you to help you understand what the best option is for your business. Often we will put forward several proposals showing the costs for the different type of solutions, illustrating the pro’s and con’s of each, allowing you to choose a solution which fits your business rather than buying an “of the peg” solution.
As well as designing the solution and procuring the hardware, we can also implement and support your new server. We have a team dedicated to planning and implementation of new server infrastructures, we will liaise with key staff within the business or your existing IT department to ensure a smooth transition from old to new with no or little downtime.
Often businesses will choose to have this work completed over the weekend, so on Monday when everyone returns, everything is installed and ready to use. We often provide an engineer on a Monday morning to help with any teething issues you may experience.
